Hello, everyone! I apologize for missing last week, but I have a plausible and wonderful excuse. My daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Jasper Bloom, presented my husband and I with a beautiful new granddaughter, Aspen Joyce. She was 7 pounds and 9 ounces and 20 inches long. The new parents are doing well and are quite proud they produced such a charming little creature.
My son and his wife, Chuck and Stacy Hartley of Aumsville, Ore., are waiting for their child to born in the next couple of weeks. Bob and I will be heading that way shortly thereafter, so if I miss a column or two, I'll be busy being a Grandma.
Rebuilding main
After the reconstruction of Main Street, it is beautiful this year. The new trees are blooming and growing taller every day.
Travis Peterson, the city's tree guy, is taking good care of them and keeping them nice and healthy. Good job, Travis!
The city held an Arbor Day Celebration on May 5 and planted trees in Larry Price Park. Despite the day being cool and rainy, about 40 people attended. The kids especially enjoyed digging in the dirt and getting very dirty.
Stampede Street is now open, and the finishing touches will be completed in the next two weeks.
This column is rather short this week as I didn't have time to gather information but I'll do better next week.
We just moved, and now that the weather is nice, I have been mowing and landscaping. I love the many smells of spring in Wyoming!
If anyone has any news to be included in the column, please call 746-4818 or e-mail me at phartley_82701@yahoo.com. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful week.
