Means to speak at motorcycle movie festival

HOT SPRINGS - American Indian actor and activist Russell Means will speak at a motorcycle movie festival today in Hot Springs before the showing of "The Wild One" starring the late Marlon Brando.
Means, a longtime friend of Brando's, will speak about
7 p.m. at the historical Hot Springs Theatre, according to festival organizer Karla LaRive. Means spoke at a Los Angeles memorial service for Brando, who died July 1.
"The Wild One" will begin about 7:30 p.m., LaRive said. A vintage bike show precedes the talk and the movie.
Means has a role in the movie "Black Cloud," also starring Rick Schroeder and country singer Tim McGraw, LaRive said.
"Black Cloud" premiered at the Phoenix Film Festival in April.
The Hot Springs biker movie festival runs through Sunday at the theater, with "Mad Max" to show Thursday night and "Easy Rider" showing Friday and Saturday nights and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $7 or $5 for senior citizens.
On Friday, independent film producer Sean Covel will be the guest speaker at 7 p.m.
Covel, who produced the independent movie "Napoleon Dynamite," will speak before the showing of "Easy Rider." Covel will discuss his personal experience as well as the making of "Easy Rider."
