RAPID CITY - The granite Ten Commandments monument that was in the Alabama state judicial building until it was removed by order of a federal judge, will be in Rapid City tonight, Aug. 11, at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center west parking lot, according to Bob Ellis of Rapid City, a coordinator of the event.
A group called American Veterans Standing for God and Country, which is a part of a larger group called American Veterans in Domestic Defense, is taking the monument on a tour of America.
People will be able to view the monument in Rapid City from about 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
An all-night prayer vigil is planned.
The monument will be taken to Sturgis on Thursday, Aug. 12.
