In honor of the Independence Day holiday, the B-1B Lancer bombers of Ellsworth Air Force Base will participate in several community celebrations in the Black Hills area.
Flybys are scheduled during the Rapid City Festival of Presidents Parade today; at Mount Rushmore National Memorial on Monday, July 3; at the Gold Camp Jubilee Independence Day Parade in Lead-Deadwood on Tuesday, July 4; and at the Black Hills Roundup in Belle Fourche on Tuesday, July 4.
The opportunity to see the B-1s in action may cause temporary delays in traffic and increased levels of noise during performances.
Base officials say they regret any inconveniences flybys may cause but they assure the duration of events will be brief.
