RAPID CITY -- Black Hills Harley-Davidson in Rapid City will host the Harley-Davidson Traveling Museum between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, according to a news release from the dealership.

The traveling museum is on an 18-wheel semitrailer and contains 10 of the "greatest bikes in Harley-Davidson's 100-year racing history," according to the written release.

The exhibit also contains trophies, information on riders and classic bikes representing the history of American motorcycle racing.

The museum stops at a few selected dealerships on its annual nationwide trip.

Among the classic motorcycles on display are the 1927 Peashooter, which led a 14-race sweep of the 1935 National Championships, and the FL Dragster that broke three world records in the 1990s.

Black Hills Harley-Davidson is off Interstate 90 at Exit 55 in Rapid City, and admission to the museum is free. For more information, call Tracy Manning Egge at 342-9362.
