Crews contain area wildfires

No news is good news when it comes to fires in the Black Hills region.
And as of news deadline Saturday, there was little or no fire activity, according to Northern Great Plains Interagency Dispatch Center.
"All previously reported fires have been contained, and crews are monitoring or working on a few remaining hot spots within some of the fires," Lonnie Arthur of the dispatch information center said. "Non-local crews are either being reassigned or returning to their home bases."
Those fires that had been contained include the Spare Spring, Barnes Canyon, Sheridan Lake fires and Nebraska's Fort Robinson State Park fires and School Section Fire near Crawford, Neb. Also, Arthur said that each of those fires burned an acre or less before containment. Incorrect fire estimates were reported in Saturday's Rapid City Journal.
