ATV accident kills R.C. man

RAPID CITY -- A Rapid City man was killed in an ATV accident Thursday afternoon near Victoria Lake off Sheridan Lake Road, according to Pennington County authorities.

Sgt. Marty Graves of the Pennington County Sheriff's Office said Thomas Greene, 75, was riding an ATV about 12:41 p.m. Thursday when the accident occurred.

Graves said a cable was stretched across the road, which Greene didn't see. Greene ran into the cable, flipping his ATV, Graves said. A friend of Greene's was riding a separate ATV, but the other rider was not injured.

Greene was transported to Rapid City Regional Hospital after the accident and died of his injuries this past weekend, according to Graves.
