Nuclear activity to be discussed

Citizens are invited to attend a meeting next week about past and future effects of nuclear activity in western South Dakota.
The Uranium Summit Black Hills will be Wednesday, Dec. 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mueller Civic Center Theater, 801 South 6th St.,Hot Springs, according to a news release from the Defenders of the Black Hills in Rapid City.
Keynote speakers at the event are nuclear engineering professor Kim Kearfott from the University of Michigan and Joni Arends of Concerned Citizens for Nuclear Safety from Santa Fe, N.M.
Anyone interested in the effects of nuclear activity in western South Dakota is invited to attend. The summit is sponsored by ACTion for the Environment, Indigenous Environment, Native Ecosystems Council and Defenders of the Black Hills.
