N.D. teams out in front at Mines Invite

RAPID CITY - The Dickinson State men and the Jamestown College women are leading after the first day of the South Dakota Mines Invitational, which began Sunday at Meadowbrook Golf Course.
The Blue Hawks have a team score of 306. Minot State is in second at 307, Jamestown is third at 325 and South Dakota Mines is fourth with a score of 326.
Individually on the men's side, Dickinson's Carter Hilkewich and Minot's Luke Dailey are tied for the lead after 2-over 74s. In a three-way tie for third at 76 are Hardrocker Hank Tanner, Minot's Kellen Hunter and Dickinson's T.J. Poulsen.
For the women, the Jimmies opened with a score of 377. Black Hills State is just off the pace at 380, while the Lady Hardrockers are in third with a 401.
Individually, BHSU's Jaime Bentley is in a three-way tie for first with Dickinson golfers Megan Fisher and Lyndsey Kent. All three golfers shot 85. South Dakota Mines' Lisa Steever is in fourth at 86, and Sarah Domier of Jamestown shot 88 and sits in fifth.
The final round begins today with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. at Meadowbrook.
