PHILIP -- An 18-year-old Philip youth has been charged with vehicular homicide, authorities said.
Zane Fees turned himself in Thursday on charges related to an accident earlier this month, said Alvin Pahlke. the Jackson County state's attorney.
Fees was driving a pickup that rolled on a Jackson County gravel road on May 16, ejecting passenger Dalles Craig Brucklacher, 18, who died at the scene. The Highway Patrol said speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
Fees, who also has been charged with drunken driving, was released on a personal recognizance bond. He'll make his next court appearance June 7 at the Jackson County Courthouse in Kadoka.
