Haug joins Crazy Horse Memorial

CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL — Longtime Custer State Park employee Reed Haug will join Crazy Horse Memorial, where he will direct visitor services.

Haug has worked at Custer State Park for more than 30 years and currently oversees the park’s maintenance and development program. During his tenure, he has been involved in the operations of the park entrance stations, campgrounds, resort concessions, private cabin leases, special events and law enforcement and emergency response. He was acting superintendent during the summer of 2002.

More than 1 million international visitors tour the memorial each year.

“Reed knows the importance of providing quality customer service and has a wide array of experience in working with visitors. He is a great fit for the memorial and we are excited that he will soon be joining the Crazy Horse team,” said Jadwiga Ziolkowski, executive vice president at the memorial.

Haug’s involvement will allow Don Gifford, who has been overseeing the visitor services activities, to focus full-time on the memorial’s safety, emergency response and employee training programs. The memorial’s work force swells to nearly 200 employees during the summer months.
