Honored: The Blue Dog Gallery in Lead and its owners, John, Jan and Ben Humphrey, have been chosen to receive the Maverick Award for entrepreneurial spirit in South Dakota. They will be honored as one of the Magnificent Seven at a South Dakota Hall of Fame ceremony on Sept. 7. The Maverick Award is a joint project of the South Dakota Hall of Fame, South Dakota Magazine, Killian Community College, Dakota Wesleyan University-Kelley Center for Entrepreneurship and the McGovern Center for Leadership and Public Service. ... Jeff Goldammer, general manager of the Red Lobster in Rapid City, has been presented with the company’s top honor, the Diamond Club Award. It is presented annually to general managers in North America who demonstrated outstanding results in the previous fiscal year. This is Goldammer’s third award. He is one of 33 general managers selected from 680 Red Lobster restaurants.
Joined: Peg Christie has joined The Journey Museum staff as the office manager. Christie was recently employed in a similar capacity with Hot Pink Inc. She is originally from Newcastle, Wyo., and was educated at National American University and Black Hills State University. ... Named: Health Quest Massage announced that Christal Jackson has the joined the Rapid City shop. She grew up on a ranch near Philip. She completed massage therapy training at Headlines Academy and served on active duty in the Air Force for four years. She is also pursuing a master’s degree in exercise science. ... Jenn Moenck Feige has been named general manager for New Horizons Computer Learning Centers of South Dakota. She will oversee New Horizon’s training and operations teams in Sioux Falls and Rapid City. Jenn and Don Feige acquired New Horizons Computer Learning Center of South Dakota in February, 2007.
Completed: Ted Norman, a financial consultant and certified financial planner with A.G. Edwards and Sons in Rapid City, has completed training for the title of business services consultant. Norman completed 100 hours of study and three additional hours of supplementary courses. He has been a financial consultant with A.G. Edwards and Sons since 1994. ... Modern Woodmen of America announced that Ken Beer, a Rapid City representative, completed a five-day advanced educational program at Modern Woodmen’s home office in Rock Island, Ill.
Graduated: Jensen Jewelers announced that Venessa Walker of the Jensen Jewelers in the Rushmore Mall in Rapid City has completed the eight-week course and graduated from the master jewelry salesman program.
Staff honors: Nancy Cartwright was the top salesperson for the month at Black Hills Central Reservations. She was also named employee of the month by her co-workers. Cartwright has been with the company for six years, has earned her Black Hills Specialist certificate and books all-inclusive packages to the Black Hills. ... Comfort Keepers in Rapid City recognized Tanya Bellardino as the Comfort Keeper of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2007.

Honored: Krista (Kruger) Fogelsong and her co-anchor Patrick Nolan at FOX 4 TV in the Naples/Fort Myers/Cape Coral, Fla., area, recently received the “Best Anchor Team” title during the 2007 Best of Southwest Florida Awards. She is daughter of Delbert and Vera Kruger, formerly of Spearfish. She started her news career as a reporter in 1997 and eventually worked her way to main anchor at KEVN-TV in Rapid City.
