RAPID CITY -- Meadowood Lanes Classic Trio league on Friday evenings has recorded the first 300 game of the season. Ricky Beck, who was a substitute for the evening, threw his 300 game in the third game of a four-game set.
Ricky said he had been struggling this year with his mental game, but he must have found it for the 300.
Having tripped a couple of four pins earlier in the game for his string continuation, he got down to business when it came time for that 10th frame. He said he focused more intensely so rather than looking at a board on the lane, he looked at the crack between the boards.
Obviously it was the correct move because as the ball crossed the proper vertex, it rolled right up to the pocket and cleared all of the pins on the deck.
Ricky, who has between 20–30 perfect games, does not receive a ring for his efforts. This is his choice. Rather, he donates to a worthy cause instead. When you achieve a high score, the application has a spot where the recipient may donate to one of four causes — the Hall of Fame, the Earl Anthony Fund, the Bowlers to Veterans link or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The last two listed are the USBC Official charities. Ricky chose to donate to the BVL.
Congratulations to Ricky on his 300 game and Kudos to him for his contribution to the charity of his choice.
