Hospital hires new patient services director
SPEARFISH -- Spearfish Regional Hospital announced that Cathy Dill, formerly of Estes Park Medical Center, Estes Park, Colo., will work as the new patient services director beginning Nov. 12. Dill will be responsible for both clinical and administrative patient care. At her former job, she was quality director and acting assistant administrator for Support Services. Before that, she was the quality director for Poudre Valley Hospital System in Fort Collins, Colo.
Dill received her master's degree in nursing from Regis University in Denver.
Dill has extensive experience working in health care. Dill was instrumental in developing and spearheading the implementation of quality indicators, patient outcomes and hospital transparency reporting while at Estes Park Medical Center. She received statewide recognition for her leadership on her work with The 100,000 Lives Campaign, Hospital Public Report Card, and for her work with the Colorado Rural Hospital Association.
Health offices enter patient names in drawings
RAPID CITY -- Regional Medical Clinic, 640 Flormann St., will enter people's names that have scheduled or have a mammogram for a drawing for a large "Pamper Yourself" gift basket. All those who have a mammogram this month will receive a gift. For a medical clinic mammogram appointment, call 718-3370. For women who have a mammogram at Rapid City Regional Hospital at 353 Fairmont Blvd., their names will be entered into drawings for gifts from area businesses. To schedule a mammogram, call the RCRH Patient Appointment Center at 719-7100.
Guest speakers talks about aquatic exercises
RAPID CITY -- Nicole Craig and Barbi Jo Schreier, both of YMCA, will present "Warm Water Exercises and What's Available at the Y" at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the monthly meeting of the Black Hills Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia Syndrome Support Group. The meeting takes place in the Rushmore Room of Rapid City Regional Hospital. Meetings are open to the public, family members and loved ones. Organizers ask that no scented products be worn to the meetings. A business meeting will begin at 9 a.m. The public is welcome. Safeway West Pharmacy hosts flu clinic
RAPID CITY -- As flu season approaches, the Safeway West Pharmacy will host its 2007 Flu Clinic for adults 18 and older from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Safeway's pharmacy on 730 Mountain View Drive, across from Baken Park. Cost for the shot is $28. The pharmacy will file claims with Medicare; please bring Medicare cards.
Flu shots will be available daily after the Oct. 17 clinic:
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Walk-ins are welcome, but to ensure service, call 342-8505.
