Young girl killed in accident

WALL - An 11-year-old girl died Friday morning after a one-vehicle accident about one mile west of Wall.

The girl was a passenger in the rear seat of a 2002 Nissan Quest van towing a trailer. The vehicle was traveling east on Interstate 90 about 7 a.m. when the van drove onto the shoulder. The driver, a 36-year-old woman, overcorrected, and the vehicle entered the median and rolled.

The driver and three other passengers - a 67-year-old man, a 15-year old boy and a 6-year-old boy - all suffered injuries that were not life threatening in the accident.

All of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office, Black Hills LifeFlight helicopter and Wall and Rapid City ambulances responded to the scene.

The names of the victims are being held pending notification of family.

  • you rambled, failed to stay on topic or exhibited troll-like behavior intended to hijack the discussion at hand.
  • YOU SHOUTED YOUR COMMENT IN ALL CAPS. This is hard to read and annoys readers.
  • you named a business or identified a business in a way good or bad. Contact the business directly with your customer service concerns or your praise – they’ll likely appreciate your feedback.
