VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Black Hills State closed out its Dakota Athletic Conference season on a high note as the Yellow Jackets hammered Valley City State 52-0 on Saturday afternoon.

More importantly Black Hills claimed a share of the DAC title as previously unbeaten Minot State fell to Jamestown College 19-14 at home.

The three teams are now atop the DAC standings with 6-1 records.

Black Hills won the DAC title outright last season.

Black Hills left little doubt who the victor in this one would be as they scored 24 first half points. The Stingers then piled on 28 in the second half to post their second shutout win of the year.

Joe Beehler, a junior from Hot Springs, scored three times for the Yellow Jackets, on a 16-yard run in the first quarter, a 19-yard pass from Drew Hodgs in the third and he added a 28-yarder in the fourth.

Tanner Ehrlich scored the games first touchdown on a 52-yard run.

Hodgs added a second TD pass this one to Ryan Fagerstrom covering 27 yards.

Josh Smith ran for a 1-yard score and Ryan Palmer closed out the scoring when he ran 13 yards for TD.

Ehrlich and Beehler both cracked the 100-yard mark as BHSU churned out 308 yards on 59 carries.

Hodgs added 208 yards through the air as Black Hills ran 80 plays totaling 516 yards of total offense.

Valley City State rushed for 74 yards and had 128 yards passing.

Black Hills State (7-3 and 6-1) will now await their playoff fate.
