SIOUX FALLS — University of Sioux Falls senior golfer Brittnay Hofer of Lead has been selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s golfer of the year and headlines the 2007 GPAC Women’s Golf All-Conference team.

Sioux Falls golf coach Ken Kortemeyer has also been honored as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC women’s golf coach of the year.

Hofer was the top individual at the GPAC Championship on Oct. 11-12 with a two-day score of 151. The University of Sioux Falls claimed the GPAC Women’s Golf Championships with a 666, greatly improving on its team score of 768 at the tournament one year earlier.

The GPAC Golf Championships were played at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb.

Three Dakota Wesleyan University women’s golfers were also named to the 2007 all-conference team: Cassidy Potter, Abby Wheeling and Kelli Baseley

Potter, a sophomore from Gillette, Wyo., placed third at the 2007 GPAC Championships. Potter won two tournaments in the fall season and placed in the top five in six different events.  She earned GPAC Player-of-the-Week honors once this fall.

The NAIA Region III Championships will be April 28-29 at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
