Acoustic concert to raise funds for bluegrass festival

The Rapid City Arts Council’s fifth March Unplugged Music Sunday concert will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 9, in the theater at The Journey Museum. Twelve acoustic performers will play to raise money for the Black Hills Bluegrass Festival. Artists scheduled include Gary Hargens, Black Hills Bluegrass Band, Wednesday Night Jam Band, Foggy Bottom Cowboys, String Thaw, Colt Schneider, Larry Roetzel and Cambria, Fiddler’s Three, Trappor Mason, Dylan Lewis and Zach Lawson, String Bean Swenson Family and Will Schilling.

The cost is $5 for Dahl and Friends of Bluegrass members, and $7 for the public. Children under 12 are admitted free.

The winner of the 2008 Black Hills Bluegrass Festival T-Shirt Design Contest will be announced at 4 p.m. during the event. The winner will be awarded $300.

For more information or to buy tickets, call the Dahl Arts Center at 394-4101, Ext. 200, or stop by the Dahl at Seventh and Kansas City streets between 11:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.
