Golf: Eagles set pace at Hardrocker Invite

RAPID CITY — The Chadron State College women’s golf team held on to win the Hardrocker Golf Invite at Meadowbrook Golf Course on Monday afternoon.
The Eagles shot a team score of 699 to hold off second-place Jamestown College. Black Hills State University finished in fourth place with a total of 784 and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology shot 924.
Allyson Malzahn led the Eagles with a two-day total of 165. She fired an 83 on Monday after shooting an 82 on Sunday. Teammate Caitlin Parker was right behind with a 172, followed by Leslie Mueller’s 181 and Alissa Peterson’s 183.
Katelynn Lamb fired a 90 on Sunday to finish with a two-day total of 186 to pace Black Hills State. Anne Langdell and Katie Campbell each shot 95 on Monday for the Yellow Jackets.
Kajda Stevens shot a 111 for a two-day total of 221 to pace South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
Dickinson State rallied on Monday to take the lead on the men’s side with a 311 after a score of 322 on day one to top Minot State 633-635.
First-day leader Minot State shot a 318 on Monday to finish second while South Dakota Mines shot 342-339 to finish in fourth place.
Brandon Eisenbraun led the way for the Hardrockers with an 85-81—166 and that was followed by Sam Hermanson’s 83-84-167. Ricky Clausen shot 86-86—172 and Don DeGooyer 88-88-176.
Justin Aberle of Minot State had the low round of day one with a 74 on his card, but shot an 82 on Monday as Dickinson State’s Terry Poulsen shot a 79-74-143 to win the event.
