Poll: South Dakotans favor Obama

An independent poll by Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell indicates that Illinois Sen. Barack Obama leads New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton among South Dakota Democrats.
Obama had a 46 percent to 34 percent edge in the poll.
However, the results are still within the poll's margin of error, which is plus or minus 6 percent.
The poll is the only known statewide measure of the Democratic primary.
Obama has won nominating contests in every state around South Dakota, with the exception of Montana, which holds its primary on June 3, the same day as South Dakota.
Officials say both Obama and Clinton may appear in South Dakota before the election.
