Two men accused of being involved in stabbing a man on the Rapid City bike path last December pleaded guilty Monday to reduced charges.

Ambrose Horse, 39, and Marlynn Black Bonnet, 37, appeared in front of 7th Circuit Judge Jeff Davis on Monday morning.

Black Bonnet, accused of kicking and holding victim Wayne Zunker down while Zunker was being stabbed, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting aggravated assault.

Horse, who is accused of knowing about the crime and not using his phone to call the police, pleaded guilty to misprision of a felony. He admitted to Davis that he didn't call the police. But Horse said that, by the time he had a chance to call police, they already had arrived.

The two originally faced charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and alternate counts of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault in relation to the incident.

The additional charges were dropped in exchange for the lesser pleas.

A third suspect in the case, 27-year-old Martha Anders, faces charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and alternate counts of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

However, further court appearances for Anders won't be scheduled until the state Supreme Court makes a ruling on an appeal related to her case, according to Pennington County Deputy State's Attorney Lara Roetzel.

Horse will be sentenced by Davis on June 9 at 10:30 a.m. Horse faces up to a year in jail.

Black Bonnet will be sentenced June 16 at 10:30 a.m. He faces up to 7 1/2 years in prison.

Zunker has recovered from the stabbing, which occurred on the bike path near Pressler Junction Dec. 12.
