Another hearing has been set for a Rapid City man accused of being involved in the murder of a Rapid City woman last November.
Aaron Jones, 25, is charged with one count of accessory to first-degree murder, an alternative count of accessory to second-degree murder and one count of misprision of a felony in connection with the Nov. 8, 2007, slaying of Tamara Magic, 44.
Jones pleaded not guilty to the charges in May.
Tad Blackburn, 22, was arrested in November and charged with first-degree murder in Magic's death. Magic was found beaten and stabbed to death at her home.
Jones had a status hearing Monday morning before 7th Circuit Judge Thomas Trimble. Jones is scheduled for another hearing at 9:15 a.m. on June 16.
Pennington County Deputy State's Attorney Scott Roetzel said both sides are waiting to hear a decision on whether or not statements made by Blackburn can be used against Jones.
Trimble had agreed to suppress statements made by Blackburn, but the state has appealed that ruling, Roetzel said.
Blackburn is scheduled to go on trial later this month. He could face up to life in prison if convicted.
