Two men were taken to the Pennington County Jail on Tuesday night after being arrested on suspicion of reckless discharge of a firearm, Rapid City Police Sgt. Rich Fox said.
Police were called to a location north of Lakota Homes, between Sitting Bull Steet and Chief Drive, after receiving calls of shots fired by two people.
Fox said officers found two men walking through a field and shooting a handgun into a pond. He said they were "just goofing off."
Fox did not yet know the names or ages of the suspects. The investigation is continuing.
