Summit League tickets available

SIOUX FALLS — The Sioux Falls Sports Authority has announced that all-session tickets for the 2009 Summit League Basketball Tournament will go on sale today at the Sioux Falls Arena box office and all Ticketmaster outlets. Prices for the all-session tickets, which include tickets for every game of the men’s and women’s tournament, will be $90 for reserved seats in the lower level and $75 for general admission seats in the upper level. A service fee will be placed on tickets not purchased at the Sioux Falls Arena box office.

The tournament will be held starting at noon on March 7 and ending with the championship games on March 10.

A total of 14 games will be played over eight sessions in four days.

Single session tickets and student tickets, if available, will go on sale at a date to be announced later.

If the tournament sells out with the all-session tickets there will not be any single session tickets for sale.

The women’s tournament sessions begin at noon on March 7 and March 9 with the championship game at 2 p.m. on March 10. The men’s sessions begin at 6 p.m. every day including the championship game on March 10.

Post 320 begins fall program Monday

RAPID CITY — The Post 320 American Legion baseball program will begin its fall baseball program at 5 p.m. on Sept. 1 at Pete Lien Memorial Field.

Players of all ages are encouraged to attend.

More football game to be played at Douglas

RAPID CITY — Construction at St. Thomas More High School has prompted Friday’s game with Hot Springs to relocated.

The game, the first of the season for both teams, will be played at Douglas High School. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Covering fall sports for the Rapid City Journal

RAPID CITY — The Rapid City Journal is looking for individuals interested in covering and writing about prep sporting events during the upcoming high school sports season.

Interested individuals could be assigned between two to three games to cover per week, depending on your schedule, ranging from soccer to football to cross country.
