Hospitals share grants for disasters

PIERRE -- Twenty-two West River area hospitals and clinics have received part of $1 million in grants from the state to prepare for disasters.

Gov. Mike Rounds announced Monday that $1,020,500 will be given to facilities across the state for isolation and decontamination equipment, supplies such as pharmaceutical stockpiles and funding for disaster exercises and drills.

The grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services were distributed to:

Bison Community Clinic, $1,500; Custer Regional Hospital, $5,000; Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital, $17,000; Eagle Butte HIS Hospital, $12,500; Faith Community Health Center, $1,500; Fall River Hospital, $12,500; Black Hills Veterans Administration Hospital, $20,000; Kyle IHS Clinic, $2,000; Bennett County Healthcare Center, $5,000; Mission Medical Clinic, $2,000; Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip, $5,000; Pine Ridge HIS Hospital, $20,000; Black Hills Surgery Center LLP, $3,000; Community Health Center of the Black Hills Inc., $2,000; Rapid City IHS Hospital, $20,000; Rapid City Regional Hospital, $30,000; Same Day Surgery Center LLC, $3,000; Rosebud IHS Hospital, $20,000; Spearfish Regional Hospital, $20,000; Spearfish Surgery Center, $3,000; Sturgis Regional Hospital, $17,000; Wall Health Services, $1,500; and Wanblee IHS Clinic, $1,500.
