Investigators say they have a suspect and expect an arrest soon in the shooting death of a 56-year-old Redfield man.

The body of Allan Kissner was found about 9 a.m. Monday by a fisherman at the Dakota Point Picnic Area at Sheridan Lake, west of Rapid City.

An autopsy performed Tuesday determined that Kissner died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

"We have determined that this was a homicide," Lt. Marty Graves of the Pennington County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday night. "Our many leads have led us to a suspect in the case, and we're anticipating an arrest in the near future."

Citing the ongoing investigation, he declined to discuss details.

Investigators are asking that anyone with information about Kissner or who saw anything unusual at the lake area to call the sheriff's office at 394-6115 or the police department at 394-4134.

In publicly reporting the death Tuesday morning, officials with the sheriff's office and Rapid City Police Department initially classified the circumstances as a "suspicious death." That also was the routine following the death of Laura Moore, 50, who was found unconscious outside her Rapid City home Nov. 1. She later was pronounced dead at the hospital.

An autopsy determined she died of injuries from a blow to the head, and investigators on Friday revealed the woman had been killed and that they were interviewing "people of interest." An arrest has not been announced, and Graves said, "We're still working on that one."
