The Inter Tribal Bison Cooperative of Rapid City has received a $175,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Small Minority Producer Grant program.
The cooperative will use the technical assistance grant to help 57 tribes understand the dynamics and best practices in formulating improvement protocols in the bison industry, according to a USDA news release.
The cooperative was among eight recipients in seven states to receive $1.2 million through the Small Minority Producer Grant program.
