PIERRE - The Fort Sisseton Historical Festival and Hill City Western Heritage Festival have been selected as the 2008 Top 100 Events by the American Bus Association.
"Our office is very excited to see both festivals receive this top 100 selection," said Billie Jo Waara, director, South Dakota Office of Tourism. "Both festivals give visitors another reason to spend time in South Dakota."
The annual Hill City Western Heritage Festival takes place this weekend. It includes music and cultural heritage activities. The two-day event introduces visitors to music, old-time craft demonstrations and cultural heritage activities.
The annual Fort Sisseton Historical Festival takes place at Fort Sisseton Historical State Park near Lake City in June.
The Top 100 Events list began as a way for motorcoach operators to incorporate new products into their itineraries.
The list highlights the top fairs, festivals, parades, exhibits, theater and shows across the United States and Canada.
