Inducted: The South Dakota Cooperative Hall of Fame announced that LeRoy Schecher of Rapid City has been inducted into the hall of fame. Schecher began his co-op career in 1952 as a mechanic and later became general manager of Grand Electric Cooperative and West River Cooperative Telephone Co. He then served 10 years as general manager of an electric cooperative headquartered in Montevideo, Minn., and one year as an interim manager for a South Dakota electric cooperative after his retirement.
Named: Black Hills Federal Credit Union announced that Vicki Koch has joined the Rapid City credit union as accounting manager. Koch has more than seven years of experience in the financial industry, and four years of accounting and business management experience. In addition, Black Hills Federal Credit Union announced that Jason Salamun is the new training and development manager. Salamun, a four-year Air Force veteran, worked in training and human resources at Assurant in Rapid City.
Promoted: The Western South Dakota Juvenile Services Center has promoted Cpl. Tim Lindblom to the position of lieutenant. He has been employed by the center since 1995. He was recently assigned as a corporal with the special assignment of case manager but previously served as a home detention officer and correctional officer. … Clint Morgan of Montana Dakota Utilities has been promoted from distribution welder to working foreman in the company's Rapid City construction department. … Karen Tucker has been promoted to event coordinator at Black Hills Harley-Davidson.
Completed: Jensen Jewelers announced that Susan Cone of the Rapid City store has graduated from the Certified Professional Jeweler program, an 11-week course that covers diamonds, genuine stones, watches and other facets of the jewelry business. … Credit Collections Bureau announced that Chris Gray was promoted to collection director, Marie Adams was promoted to collection coordinator and Mark Kram was promoted to the Quarter-Million Dollar Club.
Joined: Pioneer Credit Counseling Service announced four new appointments: Amber Weber to Li'l Pioneers Daycare, Juliana Tomek and Torie Fields to the counseling department and Sheila Paulus to client care.
Staff honors: Black Hills Gold Jewelry by Coleman named Desirae Hodge its employee of the month for July. She has been with the company for six months and works in the flat cell. … Credit Collections Bureau announced that Dewey Black was the collector of the month for August. … Rami Robinson was the July employee of the month at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center. Barry Elder and Don Ludens won the seven-year quality service award and the gold production award.
