Grade schoolers on cooking a turkey

buy this photo Logan from Corral Drive Elementary shares his turkey preparations. Ingredients: get a turkey, stuffing, salt and pepper, an ax to cut the turkey, and a avin. Get the turkey and then get the ax and cut the head off. Then take out all of the yucky stuff and put in the stuffing and then put it in the avin for at least 10 minutes. When the buzzer goes off take it out and put salt and pepper. There is your turkey. Bon amatet.

Readers may not realize it, but children have pretty definite ideas on "how to cook a turkey." The Journal sponsored a contest asking children in kindergarten through fifth grade to describe how the Thanksgiving main course should be prepared.

Here are some of the entries. Ten entries won a free turkey compliments of Dan's Valley Market. Everyone who enters is eligible to win a $50 gift certificate from Toys R Us.

Last: You serve it with your mom's mash potatoes and green beens.

First you buy the turkey at the grocery store. Put the turkey in the oven. Spray it with some special spray and then you put it on a tray. Then you put it on the stove and cook it.

Then you cut off his legs and cut off his head and his arms. You wash it. Drain all the blood. Cook it for 5 minutes at 9 degrees. Then you eat it.

Directions: Get the turkey out. Put the turkey on the cutting board. Cut a big hole in the turkey. Then clean the guts out. Then put water in the hole. Make sure all the stuff is out. Put the stuffing in the turkey. Sprinkle a little bit of the seasoning. Then put the turkey in the oven. The temperature is 360 degrees. The time is 5 to 10 mins. After that, eat. "Deleacias!"

Ingredients: turkey, 3 carrots, 5 broccoli.

First, you get a turkey. Second, you wash the turkey off. Third, you chop your carrots and broccoli. Then you cut the turkeys belly open and put the carrots and broccoli inside the turkey then put the turkey in the oven to cook for 30 min. at 350 degrees F. Take it out then walla! There you have it- cooked turkey! Enjoy!

Simple steps to a turkey sundae

We take the tinfoil off and we put it on a stove. We add some spice and we turn the stove on. We check the turkey every minute and when you hear the stove "ding" that means it is done. You might want ketchup on it. You can put sprinkles on it to make it like a cake and you can put frosting on it too. You can put rice and use salt and pepper. If you want, you can use all kinds of other things.

I put ice cream in my turkey. It tastes good and the frosting on too. You should try it sometime. It is great and tasty! Try it this Thanksgiving but first, thaw it and get the blood out. Cook it in the oven. Cut it open to take the bones out and the last step, put taste on it.

I went hunting for a turkey. I shot one and I cut it up and pealed the skin off and put it in a roaster. I left him in there for 350 and took him out. We ate him for Thanksgiving. We put salt and peper on it to give it more tastey. After that we gave the bones to a dog.

Pluck the turkey

Step 1 Now you biy the turkey. Then you unrap it. Then wash it out.

Step 2 After washing it, you get all the hearts, necks and stuff.

Step 3 You take little pieces of turkey in a baggy for a little bit. Then you put it in the oven for about 3 hours, then you put it in pieces.

Step 4 Take the little pieces of turkey and make gravey. Then put the little pieces of turkey in the gravey.

Step 5 Make some stuffing to go with it all then some wine, sparkle, and soup and potatoes.

Step 6 Get the candle lights growen, get the beans out and cook and strawberrys with choclate and shut off the light and have a romantic honeymoon.

And now you are done.

Take the turkey out of the oven. Finally, you get to eat.

To roast a turkey you have to:

1. Take the turkey out of its package.

2. Put the turkey in a pan

3. Set the oven to about 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

4. Put the pan with the turkey in an oven.

5. Let the turkey sit for a while.

6. Stick a thermometer in the turkey and see how warm it is.

7. If it isn't warm enough let it bake a little longer.

8. Put some spices on it.

9. Check the turkey again. If it isn't warm enough let it warm up a little longer.

10. Take the turkey out of the oven and let it cool

11. Sprinkle some more spices on it.

12. Lastly, serve the turkey and eat it!
