RAPID CITY - The Rapid City Arts Council and PrairieWave Communications, in a joint effort to improve the media skills of regional artists and arts group, announced the winners of their first-ever ArtSmart Grant.

Recipients are Dennis Linn, Tim Vogl, Yoko Sugawara, Paul Peterson, Shawn Parker, Jeanne Apelseth, Dakota Dance Company, Claudett Sabor and The Apex Gallery at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.

The grant offers $250 in cash and $550 in services and education. The winners of the grant will increase awareness of arts events and artists' work through the use of media resources.
