Two South Dakota women are in the Dawes County Jail on drug charges after a multi-state drug investigation led to a drug arrest in Chadron early Wednesday afternoon.
Charlotte Weasel Bear, 57, and Geraldine Respects Nothing, 47, were arrested for delivery of cocaine, delivery of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana, more than one ounce but less than one pound. All are felony charges except the last one.
The Chadron Police Department, the WING Drug Task Force - the Western Nebraska Intelligence & Narcotics Group -- and the Nebraska State Patrol were all involved in the investigation.
Weasel Bear and Respects Nothing, whose home towns were not given, were arrested near the intersection of highways 385 and 2 on Nov. 25. During the stop, officers seized eight grams of cocaine and about two ounces of marijuana. Also seized were scales and other paraphernalia related to drug use and distribution, as well as the car the two women were traveling in.
Weasel Bear and Respects Nothing were booked into the Dawes County Jail, and bond was set at 10 percent of $100,000 for each of them.
The investigation received assistance from drug investigators assigned to the WING Task Force. The task force is made up of investigators whose responsibility is to investigate drug violations and violent crime in the Panhandle area of Nebraska and is funded through a Nebraska Crime Commission Grant.
