Three days of home products vendors and home building seminars, along with a large assortment of prizes and giveaways, await area homeowners and wannabe homeowners at this weekend's Black Hills Home Builders Home Show. The event is scheduled for March 28-30, with hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

Seminars planned for Saturday will address some of the energy-efficiency options and other aspects of green building products and processes.

Builders and buyers also will be present at the popular builders panel. The panel of area builders will answer questions and provide information from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday to people building or buying a home.

For those planning this year's landscaping and garden projects, the Master Gardeners will answer questions and hand out information.

Show giveaways include gift cards, a full tool box, a running bike and patio furniture. In addition, Black Hills Home Builders Association will award $5,000 in Builders Bucks to a lucky winner to be named at 4 p.m. Sunday. People can register for the giveaway by filling out a short survey at a booth located upstairs in the civic center. The winner must be present to claim the prize. If no one steps up within five minutes, another name will be drawn, according to Katy Stulc, executive director for the association. The bucks can be used for products or services from any vendor at the show.
