The key to a long life isn't all that complicated, according to William Knuppe, the newest member of The Century Club. It's all about diet.
"I had a wife who was a good cook, and we ate lots of beef," Knuppe said when asked what advice he would give to others to live a long and rewarding life.
Knuppe was born on the first day of winter, Dec. 21, 1903, in Parker. And he still lives in his own home in New Underwood. In addition to that, he still drives and had to renew his driver's license when he turned 100.
The Century Club is the creation of the South Daktoa Health Care Association and KELO Television. The club is open to everyone in the state of South Dakota upon the celebration of his or her 100th birthday. There are no dues, and every inductee receives a specially designed, matted and framed certificate. The Century Club has over 800 Members.
