SPEARFISH - Black Hills State University graduate Tara Buehner was selected to serve as the 2007-08 Ward Neff intern during her first year as a graduate student.

The internship will provide her with a $15,500 stipend and free tuition next year.

Buehner's duty as Ward Neff intern will be to look through a series of news Web sties seeking media-related news and opinion pieces to compile an online summary for the Society of Professional Journalists PressNotes.

The internship program is awarded to one journalism program nationally every two years.

Buehner graduated from BHSU in 2007. As an undergraduate, she was very involved in the campus newspaper and radio and television stations.
