Custer council plans retreat

The Custer City Council plans a special retreat starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23. The daylong retreat begins with a tour of public-works facilities, followed by lunch at Elk Canyon, 511 Mount Rushmore Road, Custer, at noon. The business-meeting portion of the retreat includes a review of major projects including the school administration building, Montgomery Sylvan Lake Road intersection development, finishing the school field project and future annexations.

Other items on the agenda include storm-water mitigation, a tax increment financing district for a Pamida store, nuisance and junk ordinances, a deer management plan, a tourism and business improvement district, improvements to the intersection of Fifth and Main streets and a potential resort facility in the city, according to the agenda.
