PIERRE - Gov. Mike Rounds announced that Todd County schools in Mission will be the site of the next education-focused town hall meeting 7 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, Sept. 4, in the Todd County Middle School gym.
"We appreciate the invitation to come in and visit with local citizens who are interested in the future of education in the Todd County School District," said the governor on the announcement.
The intent of the meeting is to invite administrators, teachers, board members and the community to share data and information to ensure that the future education system in the Todd County School District prepares students for college, technical school and the workplace.
"Each community we visit is faced with its own unique challenges. This forum provides us an opportunity to learn more about those issues," said Gov. Rounds.
In the fall of 2006, the Todd County School District had 2,043 students enrolled.
