A Rosebud man is facing federal charges of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, sexual abuse of a minor and abusive sexual contact of a child.
Christopher L. Scott, 22, pleaded not guilty to a four-count indictment accusing him of having sexual contact with a child younger than 12 and with a child between the ages of 12 and 16. According to federal court documents, the incidents allegedly happened between July 22, 1996, and March 10, 2003, in Todd County.
Scott is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse, each of which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison upon conviction. Abusive sexual contact has a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison upon conviction, and sexual abuse of a minor has a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison upon conviction. Each charge is also punishable by fines of up to $250,000.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Scott was released on bond pending trial.

* Chelsea Millea, also known as Chelsea Scholtes, 35, Westminster, Colo., was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Karen Schreier to three years in prison and five years of supervised release. Millea pleaded guilty to distribution of a controlled substance, admitting she conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine in Rapid City.
* Martin Hart, 47, Oglala, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Andrew Bogue to 30 months in prison and three years of supervised release. Hart pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Hart eluded police officers in a motor vehicle on June 15, eventually crashing into a police car.
* Robert L. Erickson, also known as Bo Erickson, 27, Mission, pleaded not guilty to a five-count indictment charging him with assault with a dangerous weapon and assault resulting in serious bodily injury. According to federal court documents, he is accused of assaulting several people with a knife, including one person younger than 18. The alleged incidents happened Jan. 2 in Todd County. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years to life in prison and a $250,000 fine. He was detained pending trial April 8.
* Ryan Joseph Petersek, 23, Winner, pleaded guilty to being a drug user in possession of a firearm. Prosecutors say he was arrested with a rifle in Tripp County. The maximum penalty is 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He was released on bond pending sentencing April 11.
* Moises Ramirez, 21, Mission, pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen firearm. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, the charge relates to the possession of a stolen firearm on Rosebud Indian Reservation last March. The maximum penalty is 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He remains in custody, with sentencing set for April 8.
* Jean Kane, 43, Huntington Beach, Calif., pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. Federal court documents show she is accused of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine between Jan. 1, 2004, and March 23, 2007, in Rapid City. If convicted, she would face a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, with a maximum of 40 years. Kane was released on bond pending trial.
* Jason Johnson, 29, Rapid City, pleaded not guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, possessing a stolen firearm, and possessing a firearm with a previous domestic-violence conviction. Federal court documents show he is accused of possessing a 12-gauge shotgun and a .22-caliber rifle on Aug. 15, 2007 in Rapid City. Each count carries a maximum penalty upon conviction of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He is in custody pending trial.
* Harold Murphy, 29, Rapid City, pleaded not guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. According to federal court documents, he is accused of possessing a .357-caliber revolver in Box Elder on July 13. He is in custody pending trial.
