NEWCASTLE, Wyo. - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is investigating the illegal shooting of five pronghorn antelope in the northeast part of the state.
The agency says the antelope were killed along U.S. 85 about 24 miles south of Newcastle on Sept. 4.
Three does and two fawns were shot from the highway with a small caliber firearm and left to rot.
The hunting season for firearms does not open in that area until Oct. 1.
