The Deadwood Days of '76 Museum announced Thursday, March 6, that the organization has been awarded a $25,000 grant from U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co.
"We hope this gift will help Deadwood preserve its Western heritage," said Kevin Arnold, U.S. Smokeless Tobacco's Midwest and Plains Regional Manager. "Our company has supported rodeos and other events in Deadwood for years, and this donation provides us with one more opportunity to support this outstanding community."
The Days of '76 Museum capital campaign co-chairman Pat Roberts said the $25,000 donation would help the committee raise additional funds through matching grants and move the campaign forward. He noted the campaign also would provide for a refurbished campground on the Days of '76 grounds.
