SPEARFISH - Spearfish police officers are investigating a string of car burglaries reported Friday morning, July 18.
Twenty-one citizens in Spearfish reported vehicles that had been entered and had items removed, according to a news release from the Spearfish Police Department.
"Many of the vehicles had been left unlocked and parked in multi-vehicle parking lots," Lt. Ross Johnson of the Spearfish Police Department said in the news release. Stolen items consisted of valuables and cash left in the vehicles.
Officers are following up on leads obtained during the investigation of these burglaries, Johnson said.
Anyone who may have observed suspicious activity during the late evening of July 17 and early hours of July 18 is encouraged to call the Spearfish Police Department at 642-1300.
