Music promoter K.E.M.G. is organizing a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5, for the families of Ashley Nelson and Melinda Smith of Sturgis. Nelson was killed in a car accident last week in front of Sturgis Brown High School. She was a passenger in Smith's car when the car was struck by a pickup truck.
The concert will be at Buffalo Bill's Bowling Alley, 910 First St., Sturgis. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The headliner is Epitome, from Wyoming, with local bands Firebrat, Synthetic Remains and Renegade Revival.
Mike Vinton of K.E.M.G. said he hopes there will be a large turnout to show support for the families.
