Four establishments fail alcohol compliance check

Four establishments failed an alcohol compliance check Wednesday evening.

Underage informants for the Rapid City Police Department attempted to buy alcohol at 21 establishments, and 17 passed the test by rejecting the attempt.

The businesses that failed were the SPF convenience store at 3275 S. Highway 79, Fuddruckers at 2200 N. Maple Avenue, Coco Palace at 1900 N. Maple Avenue, and the Oasis Bar at 711 Main Street.

Officers issued citations for suspicion of furnishing alcohol to a minor to: Mark Yellow 29, of SPF; Amanda Davis, 28, of Fuddruckers; Zu Chen, 20, of Elk Grove, Calif., an employee of Coco Palace; and Bryan Chapman, 26, of the Oasis.

Furnishing alcohol to a minor is a Class 2 misdemeanor punishable by 30 days in jail, a $500 fine or both.

Since Jan. 1, a total of 16 alcohol establishments have failed alcohol compliance checks by selling to underage police informants.

The following establishments were in compliance:

* BP, 901 E. North St.

* Big D Oil, 850 E. North St.

* Imperial Restaurant, 702 E. North St.

* North Street Smoke Shop, 634 E. North St.

* Time Out Lounge, 615 E. North St.

* East North Casino, 230 E. North St.

* Jackpot Casino, 685 La Crosse St.

* Perkins Restaurant, 1715 La Crosse St.

* Corner Pantry, 2130 La Crosse St.

* Diamond Dave's Grill, 2200 N. Maple Ave.

* Cigarette Chain, 1903 N. Maple Ave.

* Family Thrift Center, 855 Omaha St.

* Carolyn's Casino, 512 West Blvd.

* Breakroom Casino, 355 11th St.
