Four Black Hills area men have been granted pardons through Gov.
Mike Rounds and the South Dakota board of Pardons and Paroles,
according to a news release Tuesday.
The parolees include:
- John Beteem was sentenced in Pennington County on May 9, 2002,
to 180 days in jail suspended, a fine and court costs for domestic
violence simple assault.
- John Skulborstad was sentenced in Pennington County on July 29,
1997, to four years in prison suspended, four years on intensive
probation and six months in jail - as well as court costs - for
possession of a controlled substance. Kulborstad was also pardoned
after being sentenced in Lawrence County on June 13, 1996, to two
years in prison suspended, five years of probation, fines and court
costs for DUI charges.
- Gary Sapulding was sentenced in Fall River County on Oct. 18,
1985 to eight years in prison for sexual contact with a minor
younger than 16.
- Jack Labranche was sentenced in Custer County on Oct. 16, 1986,
to 18 months for failure to appear.
