A one-vehicle rollover Sunday on Interstate 25 near Wheatland, Wyo., claimed the life of a Rapid City woman and injured her husband.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation, and as of Wednesday, did not know why driver Elaine Dolin, 70, lost control of her 2005 Toyota Corolla. A spokeswoman in Cheyenne said weather, road conditions, alcohol and drugs were not considered possible factors.

According to the accident report, the vehicle was heading north at 1:05 p.m. when it dipped left off the highway. Dolin overcorrected, sending the vehicle back onto the northbound lanes, where she oversteered and sent the vehicle into a broadside slide and roll.

The force ejected the driver as the vehicle toppled to a stop on its side in the southbound lanes. Rescuers extricated the other passenger, Ronald Dolin, 72, Rapid City, and the highway patrol said he was flown to a medical facility in Scottsbluff, Neb. He was treated and released.

Services for Elaine Barbara Dolin are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 19, in Rapid City.
