RAPID CITY - South Middle School will host its first "Jeepers Creepers Say No to Drugs for Keepers" 5K run at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29.
Students, parents and community members are welcome to attend in costume, participate in the run, or visit for a hot-dog meal served after the run, according to Gigi Lage, vice president of the parent group at the school.
"It's for the kids to be aware of doing healthy things for themselves for Halloween, other than just eating candy," she said. It's also part of the Red Ribbon campaign, which encourages people to be drug free.
The run begins at South Middle School and will take participants around Robbinsdale Park and back to the school.
Registration forms can be picked up at South Middle School on the day of the race by 3:45 p.m. at the school.
