RAPID CITY - Two benefit accounts have been set up at local banks to help residents of the Eastbrooke Mobile Home Park who have been given until Dec. 1 to vacate the park.
Teresa Geraets set up one account at First Western Bank. Donations can be made to that account by stopping at any First Western Bank branch or by calling the bank at 399-0990 and asking for the Eastbrooke Mobile Home Park account.
Geraets, who does not live in the trailer park, said she went through a similar situation recently and wanted to help.
"I recently was displaced myself, and I'm on Social Security, so I know exactly how much it costs to move," she said.
Geraets said any money donated will be used to help people move their trailer houses or help those who rent them find another home to rent.
Coworkers of Dee Eastman, one of the residents who must move, have set up an account for her expenses with moving her trailer house and stick-built addition.
That account is set up at Great Western Bank. People can stop at any Great Western Bank branch store to donate or call 343-9230.
