The murder trial of a Hot Springs man has been delayed.
Shannon Fast Horse was supposed to stand trial Dec. 15 on alternate counts of first-degree murder and second-degree murder in the July 2006 beating death of his ex-girlfriend, Julie Doncheske.
The judge has delayed the trial until January or February because the chief prosecutor, Fall River County State's Attorney Lance Russell, is resigning. He was elected to the Legislature and will take office in January.
His replacement, Jim Sword, says he is confident he can try the case successfully.
