Former South Dakota U.S. Sens. George McGovern and James Abourezk will launch a statewide South Dakota Revival Tour to begin today, Sept. 10, in Aberdeen.

The tour is designed to be a virtual oral history of major historical milestones of the past 50 years. The tour will also promote the candidacy of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Scott Heidepriem.

The events will be open to the public, but the senators will ask participants for a free will offering to Heidepriem's gubernatorial campaign.
