The Rapid City Public Library satellite site, Rapid City Public Library North, which offers library materials and resources to the public, is now open at the General Beadle Elementary School's library in north Rapid City.
The new school was planned not only to meet the needs of students, but also to benefit the North Rapid community. One aspect of that is the unique dual function of the school library.
During school hours, the library serves the student population, but after hours and on weekends, it functions as a city public library.
The library is open to the general public from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. Weekend hours are the same as at the downtown library: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
